SIGNATURE STEEL

ARTWORKS

We draw on steel as no one does.

Our unique etching technique allows for high contrast, lifetime artwork you can never achieve with laser engraving.

This combined with our signature steel grunge-texture offers stunning final result.

UNIQUE HANDLE

MATERIALS

We only use high-quality materials. Stained-stabilized wood and epoxy resin blocks are durable, show high resistance to water, and at the same time they look original.

On the brass pins there is our logo – it is a kind of signature that each of our knives has.

Every knife is unique because no two pieces of wood are the same.

The knives are packed in elegant wooden boxes with our logo embossed. We carefully secure the shipment so that it reaches you in perfect condition – even to the farthest corner of the world.

Kamil

knifemaker

My story of art and craftsmanship began when, as a child, I used to spend time in my grandfather’s sculpture studio. A few years later, I graduated from the faculty of Industrial Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, Poland.

I started my career by founding a branding and design company, then I switched to game development. At some point, I realized that sitting in front of the computer wasn’t something I wanted to do anymore.

I’ve always loved knives: collecting and using them was something significant to me, so I decided to switch to knifemaking – full-time.

I love bushcraft, good food, and playing guitar. Now I’m looking for the perfect cabin in the wood to escape the city noise that overwhelms me more and more.

Lucy

manager

If you had asked me a few years ago what I would do after college, I would never have thought that I would be making knives with my husband one day – and that I would like it!

I graduated from the film studies faculty – the visual sensitivity and focus on the narrative of the story have remained with me so far. When I take photos or edit videos for our social media, I always try to make the image tell a story.

You hardly see me on our social media, but psst! – I am there. If you sent us a message and got a reply – it was probably me who answered you.

I love German Shepherds and I dream of having at least three of them. And a dachshund, because Kamil has a weakness for them 🙂

What kind of steel do we use?

Our knives are usually made of Bohler N690 stainless steel or 80cv2 high carbon steel.
At your request, we can make a knife from other available steel.

What is carbon steel?

Carbon-steel knives, often known as working knives, are preferred by professional chefs as well as bushcraft and survival fans because of their ease of sharpening and their supreme cutting edge, which is simply unattainable using stainless steel.

Carbon-steel is very reliable but a little more demanding. The knife will serve you for many years if you take care of it. A patina will form on the blade‘s surface over time – this is a natural process. If the knife comes into contact with salty or acidic products, the patina will appear faster. It’s nothing bad- it does not affect the taste of the food, nor is not harmful to health.

Like wood or other natural materials, carbon steel will change over time, but it will also develop a unique character.

How those artworks are done?

Artworks & patterns are created as a result of selective, deep etching.
First, a freehand drawing is created and then – magic happens ✨

You can never achieve this effect using laser engraving.

How long will the artwork last?

Almost forever – if you take care of the knife and sharpen it in the right way.
What does it mean? Correct sharpening should only concern the cutting edge – so as not to scratch the pattern on the blade.
Artworks will never wear off with normal use and normal cleaning of the knife.

Carbon steel knives will develop a patina over time. If treated in a bad way, they will rust. Avoid it at all costs! A rusty knife is not suitable for food preparation.

Never wash your knives in the dishwasher. High temperatures and extreme humidity can irreversibly damage the knife handle, while contact with other dishes or the dishwasher’s elements will cause dulling of the blade and micro-damage of the steel. Knives damaged as a result of washing in the dishwasher are not covered by warranty.

If your knife is made of carbon steel, simply wash it under running water immediately after use and dry it thoroughly with a cloth.

Knife Storage

If possible, store your knife on a magnetic strip or in a special knife block. If you store your knife in a drawer, wrap the blade in a cloth or keep it in a case to avoid any blade damage.

Rub the handle with vegetable or olive oil once in a while. This helps to restore the intensity of its colour, while helping to preserve the material that the handle is made from.

You can find your knife’s blade angle noted in the packaging insert. We usually sharpen our knives to 18º on each side, although this varies with blade thickness.

When sharpening your knife, try to sharpen only the cutting edge so as not to damage the pattern etched on the blade.

Feel free to contact us if you need more specific consultation on this topic.

Order preparation time is max. three business days. Delivery speed is less easy to predict as it depends on the courier company, but usually it takes 3-5 business days to deliver within Europe, and up to 14 business days for countries outside the EU.

International Shipping

We ship our knives all over the world (except to Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Russia). If you would like to make sure that we will be able to ship your knife to you, please write us an email providing your location. We will check the available transport options, as well as the exact cost and expected delivery time.

Packaging

We send our knives in custom-made wooden boxes. In the box you will also find a small jar containing camellia oil to grease the handle, and an information leaflet with the exact specifications of your knife as well as tips on how to care for it.
